Vivid Season is the culmination of five extremely experienced, dedicated and talented musicians who came together in the Summer of 2008. The band performs material from some of today's top artists in
the modern rock genre with an accuracy and precision rarely found in the club scene.
The group utilizes top notch equipment for tone and production that sets them far apart from
the others. Vivid Season has a chemistry, similar to a brotherhood, that enables them to mesh together and perform as a unit, like a well oiled machine. The journey is just beginning for these five guys from the Mid Atlantic Region, so buckle up, strap in, come along and enjoy the
ride!

 Mickie V. Vocals
|
Mickie has performed in countless projects over the years, primarily as a guitarist or bassist.
He made his debut as a front man for the group Third Earth in the early 90's. The band
soon earned the opportunity to perform on the bill with such
notable acts as Quiet
Riot, Foghat,
Childs
Play, Funny
Money & Laughing
Colors. After the amicable
separation of Third Earth, Mickie turned his sights more towards the production end of the business. Building a massive mobile lighting rig and working with some of the top bands and production companies at various events and festivals around the Mid Atlantic. After an almost nine year hiatus from performing, the itch came back and he joined what has now evolved into Vivid Season. A veteran of both performance and production he has a unique insight into what it takes for a group to sound and look their best. Mickie's musical influences include, but are not limited to:
Kings
X, Steve
Vai, Dream
Theater, Queen &
The
Beatles. |

 Mike Sims Guitar/Vocals
|
|
Mike
started playing guitar at the age of 12. After performing in numerous local cover bands he was
invited by Mike Lewis and Bobby Holmes (currently in VS) to join
their thrash metal band as a bassist. He never went back
to guitar. Mike still uses many guitar techniques which
include using a pick, chords, harmonics, effects, and
hammer ons and pull offs. In 1987 Mike was asked to join local metal legends WarTorn,
and for the next 5 years toured and recorded three
CDs with that band, continually honing his skills as
a bassist. Mike's contribution to Vivid Season lies in his
ability to create thick grooving bass lines which enhance
the tight rhythm section of the band. Some of Mike's favorite
players are: Justin
Chancellor, Jason
Newsted, Chris
Squire, Carles
Benavent & John
Paul Jones, just to name a few.

 Bob Holmes Drums
|
Born
in New London, CT, Robert (Bobby) Holmes started playing
drums at the age of 4, and became a professional by age
15. Taught by his father George Holmes, a New England drum
legend, both a professional drummer and teacher, Bobby has
developed his own unique musical style. Bobby
was in the hardcore punk band The Hernia Briefs which
toured throughout the country in the 80’s and opened for
major recording artist Faith
No More. In the late 80’s he toured with Obnoxion, a
progressive thrash metal band, in the Mid-Atlantic region’s
club circuit. Obnoxion recorded in Oz recording studio
with producer Drew
Mazurek, who has also produced records for Linkin
Park. Bobby's
in depth style has been widened by listening to not only
jazz and rock, but to a variety of musical styles from all
over the world. He then applied elements of these styles
to his drumming in a melodic and rhythmic fashion. His
inspiration to play comes from listening to jazz &
progressive metal. Some of his influences are Buddy
Rich, Dennis
Chambers and Mike
Portnoy . |
